1st South African / UK Film Finance & Co-production Forum

KZN Film Commission (South Africa), supported by Talking Drum Entertainment (UK) are spearheading this event specifically to connect with Filmmakers in the UK who want to develop and finance co-productions with South Africa.

KZN Film Commission is hosting the inaugural ‘South African/UK Film Finance & Co-production Forum’ in London at the High Commission of South Africa on 11th October supported by Talking Drum Entertainment, the film production and distribution company that pioneered African cinema releases in the UK.

The programme will include presentations on the South African Film industry, the performance of the co-production treaty with the UK to date and look at South Africa as a filming destination particularly Kwa Zulu Natal, while exploring finance and distribution opportunities all with the aim of building partnerships that lead to developing world class film projects between the two countries that exploit each other’s markets.

The forum is primarily aimed at Filmmakers who are thinking of or are already developing feature film projects with South Africa or those who just want to explore the practical possibilities of working with South African film industry professionals and bodies.

The KZN Film Commission is one of the main regional film bodies in South Africa seeking to connect film professionals in the UK, Nigeria, Kenya, and the rest of the world to achieve mutually beneficial economic and cultural goals.

KwaZulu-Natal is a beautiful coastal South African province known for its great weather, beaches, mountains, and savannah populated by big game. Durban is the largest city in the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
