Nollywood Movies, a UK based 24-hour movie channel which specializes in broadcasting movies from the Nigerian film industry known as “Nollywood”, has announced that it will stage the first Nollywood Movies Awards (NMA) to recognise and honour excellence in Nollywood.
The Event programme will kick off with a Nominees’ Party on Saturday 5th May, 2012 followed by the main awards ceremony on Saturday 2nd June, 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria. According to Executive Director Alfred Soroh, “it’s our intention to use this event to honour and celebrate Nollywood and promote and encourage film craft in our section of the industry”.
Highlights of the event will be shown on Nollywood Movies SKY Channel 329.
